About the Role
Are you interested in working for a well-established global manufacturing company in the research and development field? Our client, based in Royston, are looking for an experienced Buyer to support their solution-oriented Purchasing team.
This role is a full time, temporary position, initially for 6 months but for the right candidate could lead to more. You will be required on site role and will be responsible for daily purchase order creation, invoice query resolution, material scheduling for production line support and daily meetings.
You will be a passionate individual with a purchasing background with experience in order placement, processing and monitoring of deliveries as well as confidence in using SAP and will have strong administrative and communication skills.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Use the MRP System (SAP) to balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan that satisfies the combined requirements of production, development, and any other sources, while keeping inventory within approved company targets
- Daily metric reporting on key KPI’s such as late orders, unconfirmed orders and material shortages for the business
- Attending a daily meeting within the purchasing team
- Pro-actively identifying, escalating, and addressing risks to production requirements
- Setting up meetings
- Work closely with the MDM Administrator to change/amend any MRP parameter data to deliver the correct inventory levels and stability to operations team.
- Setting up meetings and or 1:1 calls with relevant suppliers and/or purchasing team members to present plans, action items, and capacity constraints.
- To offer limited coverage to the department to help in instances of illness and/or annual leave
